For me, though, I'll be sticking with Original for my presets, plus crop/rotate, and the histogram. Anyway, this probably doesn't apply to most users/updaters.Īnd FWIW, Studio 2 can be opened as a plug-in in Affinity Photo - Windows. I confess, I'm somewhat overly cautious (paranoid? nah, not me!), I keep my computer locked down as much as I can, but the only time this is a problem is when I use an online installer or updater this includes PDF-Xchange Editor, Paint.NET, one or two others those other programs can be updated manually, Topaz is the only one that doesn't offer this option. Re: my previous note about temporarily disabling my firewall: this solution was provided by Topaz tech support apparently I wasn't the only one with this problem. I prefer cropping, maybe adjusting horizon, before tweaking the image. Hopefully, it will be added soon.Īlso missing?: crop & rotate tool.

#IMPRESSION TOOL IN TOPAZ STUDIO 2 UPDATE#
(And I can finally quit wishing for an update to photoFXlab! )Īs noted in other replies, this is definitely not implemented - yet. Once they get plug-ins operational, it might - might - replace Original Studio for me.
#IMPRESSION TOOL IN TOPAZ STUDIO 2 SOFTWARE#
My initial impression is that it works really quick, compared to other software (Affinity Photo, PSP x8, Nikon Capture NX-D, Olympus Workspace). I work only an a notebook computer: HP ENVY 17.3" LCD Intel Core i7-6500U 1TB HDD 12GB, with both an nVidia GeForce 940M, 2GB video memory, as well as Intel HD Graphics 520. And any home-brewed presets don't migrate to S2 at this time. Legacy plug-ins do not work at this time. It's not as bad as I was expecting, and they say that there is still some work to be done.ĭO NOT uninstall your original Topaz Studio (they call it Studio 1). Presets in Impression 2 and Studio 2 are not in the same format. (And I don't have any other software running that may want to "phone home".) Does that mean we now have to manually recreate each of the presets in the old impression 2 back in the studio 2 so that we can use it. Once installation and/or updates are completed, I immediately re-enable my firewall. I had to do the same for the three AI products I have (DeNoise AI, Sharpen AI, Adjust AI) - I don't do this for Original Studio updates. Note that for many Windows users (possibly just Win 10? I really don't know), we have to TEMPORARILY disable the firewall during installation, and probably for updates. I received the email also, followed the instructions, and was able to install.
